FAQ
How often will I receive my orchids with a membership?
Members can expect to receive their orchids on a monthly basis. This regular delivery schedule allows for a consistent and enriching experience as you expand your orchid collection.
What is differences between “imports with loose moss” and “imports with moss/original moss”?
Different nurseries we work with can export plants in different ways. Some nurseries can only export plants with loose moss per custom regulations.
Imports with loose moss indicates the plants’ original media are removed totally before inspections by export country’s customs. The farm then tug in fresh moss around roots to maintain the hydration of the plants during transportation. We pot plants up with New Zealand AAA fresh moss upon receiving. This means the roots are disturbed and take time to adjust to the new media.
Imports with moss indicates the plants are exported with original growing media. This is our preferred way of importing as the plants can bounce back faster after transportation shock. Unfortunately, not all the nurseries we work with have the license to export with original media. At the same time, this means of import comes with a lot higher transportation costs as well.
Why some plants I receive are small but pricey?
We are a nursery dedicated to rare and hobbyist plants, meaning genetics and rarity of plants are our priority instead of plant sizes.
Some other indicators for the size of the plants are:
- Some species are naturally miniature, in this case, small plants does not mean it won’t bloom.
- Some hybrids have ancestries of miniature.
- Limited supplies from the breeder. We always request the biggest plants possible upon offering. Unfortunately, some cultivars are just very limited in quantities and breeders cannot raise them to bigger enough size before they’re sold out. If you like a specific cultivar but hesitant about the plant size, please do not pull the trigger.
What should I do if my orchids arrive damaged?
In the event that your orchids arrive in CRITICAL condition (eg, crown rot, whole top foliage snapped, etc.) you have 48 hours to report any damages to our customer service team. Please note that we are not responsible for damages caused by carrier delays (USPS 1-3 Business days), and it is essential to inspect your package upon delivery. We recommend UPS 2nd day delivery service to ensure your package arrives in a timely manner.
Though we always try our best to wrap the plants to ensure safe transportation, some imperfections should be expected. If you expect all plants to arrive in perfect condition, we might not be a good fit for you.
